The article aims to introduce the underlying motivation and conceptual underpinning special issue entitled “Globalizing Local Understanding of Fragility in Eurasia.” main purpose this is problematize popular opinion portrayal Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) more generally countries Eurasia Caucasus as inherently fragile states which are politically unstable thus on brink collapse. This also seeks question narratives modernity that singular constantly out reach for large swathes world’s populations because narrowness hegemonic nature architecture global governance. By carefully considering ways means through international institutions categorize and/or failed, provide theoretical foreground focuses locating inherent community resilience strategies.
